Recommendations

Recommendations are what Goatzilla found worth acting on in your workspace. Goatzilla checks your ad accounts on its own, every day, and tells you what is wasting money, what is not running, and what would do better with a change — most important first.

What Goatzilla checks

Goatzilla reads the ad accounts selected for the workspace and looks for things like:

  • Spend with no results — a campaign spending without conversions, or paying for searches of a competitor's name.
  • Ads that are not running — ads the platform rejected, ads that need a fix before they can show, or a campaign that is on but getting no impressions.
  • Setup gaps — no ad account connected or selected, no campaigns, or none running.
  • Campaigns ending soon — so you can decide whether to extend them.
  • The platforms' own advice — what Google, Meta and TikTok suggest, such as a budget that is holding a good campaign back, ads people have seen too often, or a pixel that has stopped sending events. Goatzilla passes on the advice that helps you and leaves out the suggestions that only raise your spend or hand your targeting and creative to the platform.

Where you see them

  • Operations — Recent recommendations sits under the headline numbers when a session opens. Choose View more to read why each one matters.
  • Your account manager — when something important is open, it raises it in its first reply of the session, after answering what you asked. Ask it about any recommendation and it explains the numbers behind it.
  • Start with — when a high-priority recommendation is open, the suggestion to act on it comes first.
  • Notifications — a notification when something important is found. See "How often you are notified" below.

Priority

Each recommendation has a priority, shown by the colour of its dot:

  • Red — high. Money is being wasted or ads are not running. Worth acting on now.
  • Yellow — medium. Something that would do better with a change, such as a budget or creative suggestion, or a campaign ending soon.
  • Grey — low. Worth knowing, not urgent.

Act on a recommendation

  1. Open Operations.
  2. Choose the suggestion under Start with, or ask the account manager about the recommendation in your own words.
  3. The account manager explains what it would change and asks you to confirm.

Nothing changes in your ad account until you confirm. Decisions about spend, such as raising a budget, are always yours.

How often you are notified

  • In the app — every member of the workspace gets one notification when Goatzilla finds something new and important. If it finds several at once, they arrive as one notification.
  • By email — the workspace owner and admins get at most one email a day, in the morning in the ad account's time zone, and only on a day something new and important was found. A day with nothing new sends no email.
  • Never twice — you are not notified again about something already open. If an issue clears and comes back within a week, such as a campaign paused and resumed, it shows again in Operations without a new notification.

Medium and low recommendations never send notifications; they wait in Operations.

To stop the email, turn off Email Notifications in your account's Notifications settings.

When a recommendation goes away

Recommendations stay open while they are true. When you fix the issue — on Goatzilla or directly on Google, Meta or TikTok — it closes on its own after Goatzilla next reads the account. Goatzilla reads the accounts every morning and early afternoon, and again when you open Operations.

Common problems

  • No recommendations at all — connect an ad account and select it for this workspace in Settings → Ads Accounts.
  • A fixed issue is still listed — it closes the next time the account is read. Opening a new session in Operations starts a fresh check.
  • Competitor searches are never flagged — Goatzilla needs to know your competitors. Add them under Competitive Set in the Workspace Profile (Settings → General), or ask the account manager to research your market; it adds the competitors it finds.
  • No emails — emails go only to the workspace owner and admins with email notifications on, and only on days something new and important was found.
